There was a time when dentistry for mature patients simply meant dentures. Thankfully much has changed in oral hygiene and dental treatment options.

Having practised comprehensive dentistry for more than 20 years, my dental team & I understand that many mature adults may experience unique dental concerns that sometimes require customized or extensive dental care.

We take the time to assess a new patient’s situation: health, appearance, body chemistry, lifestyle and dental needs. Perhaps most importantly, we take the time to listen to you and to understand your oral health and objectives.Healthy, Attractive Smile

At a regular dental exam (which should be performed at least twice a year) we’ll examine the teeth for any signs of decay or erosion; perform an oral cancer screening, and examine the gums for any indication of periodontal disease. In addition, the structure of your mouth and integrity of the jaw bone will also be examined before cleaning & scaling is performed.

As we age it’s more likely that some restorative dentistry will be required because even with good general dental care, senior patients are more prone to decay, erosion, gum disease and infection.

The good news is that thanks to technology, techniques and new materials; we can offer our mature patients a full range of restorative services designed to rebuild tooth structure, restore tooth strength, enhance oral function & visually improve the look of their smiles.

A fully functional mouth is not just beautiful. It also improves a person’s quality of life. Being able to eat, speak, smile or laugh without embarrassment or discomfort is vital to a happy, healthy lifestyle.

Regrettably, sometimes tooth loss cannot be prevented. The problem is especially prevalent among senior patients and if tooth loss does occur, it’s important to protect the adjacent teeth with a dental implant because an implant anchors a crown or bridge and preserves the strength of the jaw bone, to provide a long lasting, comfortable & attractive solution. Without support from the teeth, facial muscles can sag, making people look older than their years.

We offer an extensive range of cosmetic and restorative dental options for mature patients who want to rejuvenate their appearance. We think mature patients will be very pleasantly surprised by how easily, comfortably and quickly they can begin to enjoy a beautiful, healthy, youthful smile that can take years off their appearance.

Patients will feel very comfortable in our beautiful practice at Laurentian Dental. When you decide that it’s time to restore your teeth and rejuvenate your smile, we’ll partner with you until you’ve achieved full health and function, and we’ll make sure that your smile is both beautiful and natural looking.

Yours for better dental health,
